What is Web 2.5? Exciting new developments in internet technology offer new opportunities for anyone hoping to earn income from home or online. I consider these developments to be the latest evolution of the internet. Certainly important enough to deserve their own category.

This is my definition of web 2.5.

"Sites that fall into this category are user driven interactive , community sites that have the added advantage of giving back to you some of what you only deserve for providing content which draws visitors that make them money."

'Nuff Said.

The staggering success of social networking sites such as MySpace is not only reflected in the incredible numbers of page views (4.3 billion), and members (over 70 million) the yearly revenue now topping 800 million is almost unbelievable. Isn't it time that the people who are actually providing content for these publishers share some of this profit?

Profit sharing for users

Profit sharing is the new Web 2.5 standard. Some new internet entrepreneurs have seen the light and gotten a vision to actually give a "payback" to their faithful users. Perhaps its a response to a manifestation of the opposite end of the spectrum. That would be the host of proselytizers who come up with gimmik plans to basically spam the users of social networking sites and try to sell them something. As opposed to the "in your face spambots", profit sharing works quietly in the background as people simply do their thing. How refreshing.

I see this as an evolutionary leap, which is why I'm calling it Web 2.5. It makes a big difference to the users who provide the content, and represents a mindset that I believe is more socially conscious.
